Understanding our material library
Resin, stone, bronze-metallic, marble, wood, and glass — what each material actually looks and feels like, and where it's used.
Six materials, six different jobs
Every material in the library is chosen for a specific visual and tactile character, not used interchangeably across every product. A piece's material is part of its design, decided at the same time as its form — not a color swapped in afterward.
Resin
A smooth, slightly warm cast surface, available in a range of finishes from matte to satin. It's the most-used material across the collection because it holds fine detail well and takes a hand-finished surface consistently — the base material for most Custom Sculptures commissions.
Stone finish
A matte, granular surface in a cooler neutral tone, chosen specifically for pieces that need genuine architectural presence — wall reliefs and full-scale statues rather than tabletop pieces. It reads as heavier and more permanent than resin, which is exactly the point on a large-format piece.
Bronze-metallic
A warm, directional finish with real specular highlight — the kind of surface that visibly changes character as light moves across it through the day. Several of the collection's lit, statement pieces use this finish specifically because it catches lamplight well after dark.
Marble, wood, and glass
These sit further down the library, used where a specific piece calls for them rather than across the general catalogue. Marble carries cool-toned veining unique to each block; wood keeps its grain visible under a matte-to-satin surface; glass is built around how light passes through the piece rather than reflects off it.
How to choose, if you're commissioning
Start with where the piece will live and what light it gets, not with the material itself. A piece near a window that shifts through the day suits bronze-metallic or glass; a piece in consistent, even light suits resin or stone equally well. If you're unsure, the studio will talk through it with you before anything is queued for production.
